Hello everyone!πŸ˜€

Well, this time my blog will discuss an opinion paragraph with the theme :

"Challenges of Education in the Middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic"

Indonesia has big challenges in handling Covid-19. Of all the challenging aspects, I am more focused on the educational aspect. The Covid-19 epidemic forces a physical distancing policy to minimize the spread of Covid-19. The application of physical distancing has an impact on the educational aspect, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud) issued a policy of home learning, online / online learning and this is followed by the elimination of the National Examination (UN) for this year. However, this sudden mechanism has often shocked educators, students, and even parents.

As a result, students who have prepared for the UN feel very disappointed with this policy, because they just passed. But it cannot be denied that this policy must be accepted because this policy is being attempted to break the Covid-19 chain in the community. The learning method using technology applied by the government is considered a challenge in it self.

Online learning should encourage students to be creative, access as much knowledge as possible, and produce work. Not burdening students with tasks that pile up every day. Many factors hinder the effectiveness of online learning, including:

1. The mastery of technology is still low, it must be admitted that not all teachers master technology, especially teachers of the 80s generation, whose use of technology was not yet obvious at the time. Students experience almost the same situation, not all students are accustomed to using technology in their daily lives. In fact, there are still many schools that have technological limitations so that they have to compete in using learning support technology devices and they are not even introduced to technology in learning.

2. Internet network, online learning cannot be separated from the use of the internet network, sometimes the use of cellular networks is sometimes unstable because the location of the residence is still far from the range of cellular signals.

3. Cost, the internet network which is very much needed in online learning is a problem in itself. The quota purchased for internet needs has increased.

We can see this gap by looking at differences in internet speed in various regions. People in urban centers often enjoy much faster internet than those in less developed areas.

This condition does not only affect elementary, junior high and high school students but also affects tertiary institutions. Students, especially those who have migrated, will be in a condition of vulnerability both socially and economically. The number of overseas students who come out of their home areas to study is a very large number. The online system learning policy that is currently being implemented actually opens up opportunities for students to learn from anywhere, one of which is from home. Online learning until an undetermined time limit can be an opportunity for students to return to their respective hometowns for quite a long time. The arrival of not all students can return to their hometowns, various things become reasons for students to remain in the overseas areas where they study.

The first reason, restrictions in their area of origin, the policy of each region to carry out local lockdowns are obstacles for students. Especially for those who study in the Covid-19 red zone, strict regulations will be applied to residents who come from the red zone, for example dadi Jakarta. Second, for students who come from remote areas, it may be that the limited quality of the internet network makes them think again about returning to their hometowns.

Okay, that's all I can say. I hope you are happy with my blog.
